Anybody being invested in Sasaki and isn’t a Dodgers fan deserves the pain and disappointment when he inevitably signs there lmao.
Curry is the mouthpiece for Cashman/the org, so this just reads to me like the Yankees did their best but still think Sasaki isn’t convinced/never would be convinced to go somewhere that isn’t SD/LA.

We’ve made Sasaki aware that Max Muncy dunks rolled bologna in mayo and calls it “real sushi.” It’s required dining for all Dodger players. Waiting to hear back.
Don’t bother Yankees. Any new Japanese recruit wants to follow Ohtani. That’s the entire reason Yamamoto gave New York the cold shoulder after a year’s worth of recruitment.

I would like for the Mets to land Sasaki but I’m not going to be disappoint him if we don’t land him because I expect that he’s going to be a Padre or a Dodger.

Ohtani being allowed to defer 95% of his contract in order to sign all of his NPB all star buddies should be illegal

I think it’s dumb to say that he wants the small market and not really the fan pressure this whole time and end up with the Yankees or Dodgers.
If the Mariners were a competent organization they would be in the conversation. But the fact that they aren’t even in the conversation shows you how dysfunctional ownership is. Everything Roki has been asking for makes Seattle feel like a pretty good fit. Yet we can’t even get a seat at the table
These players should just be added to the MLB draft at this point to give some sort of life to this league outside of the 8-10 teams doing something. Just change their service time to something that would address their advanced age due to other league service time. Someone here probably has a smarter idea, but it would be good for the game.

Idk who they could target but a young, controllable 3rd basemen for Gil and whatever else would solve their one remaining major issue
