Per Next Gen Stats, Mims leads all qualified receivers with 5 yards of average separation between him and the nearest defenders on targets. This is half a yard larger than 2nd place (Tucker Kraft).

A qualified receiver is one with 45 targets this season.

  1. Mims also leads all qualified receivers in yards after catch per reception with 12.1. Funnily enough Tucker Kraft is also second in that stat with 2.2 less yac/r.

  2. He’s broken out. I think he’s for real. I’d be happy with him as the #2 going forward. Hoping we can trade Sutton for a late round pick to clear space and sign Tee Higgins. Bengals are gonna low ball him.

  3. Mims is breaking out in front of our eyes. He needs to continue to be featured. It will open up this offense.

  4. NGS separation stats are incredibly misleading and only look at separation at the point of the catch. The reason Mims is so high is because the majority of his catches have come lined up in the backfield where naturally there’ll be a ton of space when the ball gets thrown his way

  5. Mims one issue is he still doesn’t quite catch the ball cleanly, but even that’s something he’s improved on over the year. I think his development is fully on track to be a bigger weapon next year
