All of my “we might actually be able to make the playoffs” mood was optimistic and near joking. I’m dead serious about this now, we got a Cup to fight for you guys.
Sorry for the dumb question but this is my first year following hockey fiancee wanted to go to a game and now we are obsessed. How does the wild card work? I know we are pretty close to a wild card spot I just don’t understand the cutoff.

Honestly if the jackets can have a few 6-4 10 game runs this team might sneak in to a playoff spot. Actually impressed by the play this year. Figured with the offseason they’d extend the down period another year. Not saying it’ll be a deep playoff run but the team is coming along.
Just a reminder we just went through the roughest part of our schedule for the year and no west coast trips.
That being said we play down to teams. It is possible though for us to surprise everyone

How in the hell does a team have FIVE games in hand on anyone during the season. That seems like a massive scheduling issue.

The five-game winless streak coming at the end of the month will be a reminder that teams with such atrocious defense generally do not have a realistic chance to make the playoffs.
Let me be clear when I say this. In the stretch, I won’t be shocked if we don’t end up making the playoffs. But, I am also starting to get annoyed that people are just looking at our history to say that and not our actual position in the standings.
The other day Spittin Chiclets were talking about how abysmal the Blackhawks are and how toxic the locker room is in Anaheim. For once, it wasn’t about us!
