[Williams, BSH] Luchanko NOT getting traded before OHL trade deadline

There is a chance they might expect him back, but I think there are other factors.
Most people know it will be difficult to topple London this year, so probably not a lot of teams offering up a huge bounty. London traded for Cam Allen (Guelph’s only other drafted player) and gave up 7 draft picks for him cause it’s a position of need (Allen is now the third highest scoring D on London and he’s played 6 games). A lot of teams don’t want to give up that haul if they know it would be a Herculean task to beat London even with Luchanko.
The other factor is that Luchanko is a big draw, even though Guelph is a team that has better attendance numbers, they are having their best year attendance wise even though they are tied for the second worst record in the league.
If he comes back they can trade him next year for a boat loaded. If he doesn’t they pack the building with a losing team to see their first 1st rounder in five years.
